I set up this Go Fund Me account to help the Hornback family who have fallen on some hard times recently by no fault of their own. On January 9, 2016 Glenn was in a caravan heading to his daughter Harmony’s first Pep Band competition in Orleans, Indiana. He was 3 cars behind the school bus carrying the students. A small, black car with tinted windows was traveling in the opposite lane. That car started to cross the center line, barely missed side swiping the bus, then the first 2 cars in the caravan, before he was completely in our lane and heading straight on for Glenn. Luckily Glenn was paying attention and thinking fast. He had to swerve off the road and across the opposite lane to avoid the head on collision. He spun out of control and slammed into a utility pole. His car is totaled. The driver of the little black car did not even stop, and the police were unable to locate it.
Glenn had just purchased this car and hadn’t even made the first payment yet. He bought this car because his prior vehicle has little to no heat, and he wants his daughter, Harmony, to have a warm car to ride in this winter.
Glenn is currently unable to work due to a rare form of debilitating arthritis. It is slowly fracturing the discs in his back and pushing them apart, making it hard for him to move his joints. He has applied for disability, but does not have a decision back yet.
Glenn’s car only has liability coverage, which will not pay out anything under these circumstances. By the time he pays off this totaled car and can afford to purchase something else, it will be NEXT winter!
I set this account up in hopes of helping the Hornback family raise enough money to pay off the totaled car ($1,000) and purchase a dependable car with working heat, which Glenn estimates to cost anywhere from $1,150 – $2,250.
I hope you can find it in your heart to help out the Hornback family. Please consider making a donation to the cause and sharing this campaign!
