Support Amanda's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hello loved ones,

I really don’t know where to even begin with this. I am not one to be on stage front and center! And really don’t care for people knowing my personal stuff..

With that being said.. I also know a strong support system is very important and I am blessed beyond measure in that department! So thank you all for being concerned and showing your love!

I will try to post updates on here to keep you all in the loop. I’m already finding it very difficult to respond to the outpouring of love as I am still waiting for answers myself.

I am trying to process all of this information…re-arrange my whole life for all the consultations and extra testing.. hold my fort down… care for 3 other families children.. moving that darn Elf on the shelf and trying to protect my own very impressionable children.

Tomorrow we are going to break the news to them; as gental as we can while only saying what is necessary for little minds to process and hearts to take on.

what we currently know is I have stage two breast cancer containg 3 masses on the right side! They are all estrogen + progesterone highly + and thankfully HER2 -

It is invasive ductal carcinoma.. which means it is in the ducts ( like a little pipe) but it has broke through the walls and is now invading the areas around it. Thankfully the lumphnodes still look clear.

There is no chance in saving the right side due to how spaced out they are an my small chest size. with being a carrier of the BRAC gene it’s in my best interest to do a double mastectomy. I had a scare on the left side last year and don’t want to keep going through this.

I have to go for an mri this Tuesday to check just double check that we are seeing all the masses and there won’t be any more suprises once they get in the operating room. They are also closely checking the one laying against my pectoral muscles to make sure it hasn’t invaded those yet.

If any more masses come to light we will have to go back to the biopsy stage and go through all the testing again delaying things. prayer warriors your needs here!

If all is what we think I’ll also have an appointment Thur with my surgical oncologist to plan the surgery date.

The following Monday will be a consultation with the plastic surgeon to discuss reconstruction options. Yes I still want boobs! lol

Chemo is still up in the air.. they are currently doing mamo mapping to decide what’s to come on that. However, a day ago we were looking at 6 months of chemo prior to surgery and after.. so I’ll rejoice in surgery first.

unfortunately there are still a lot of unknowns and question marks… but we are on the right track to getting back to healthy!

thank you to everyone who has called, text and sent up prayers. I apologize if I don’t write back to every message or answer every call. I’m trying my best to keep my peace and hold onto what I can of normalcy for my family.but please know it is all appreciated and I can feel the love.
