Stacey Peterson Fights Cancer

As teachers, we struggle and fight to reach our students.  We dedicate ourselves to assisting children in obtaining goals, conquering obstacles, and envisioning futures.  It is who we are. It is why we teach.  As teachers, we endure and struggle, but there is one of us, a teacher, part of our family, a beautiful and inspirational soul, that has been struggling even more.  

Her name is Stacey Peterson.  She is the heart and soul for the strugglers.  She gives and gives and gives every single moment of every single day to her children and her co-workers.  Phenomenal is not even a strong enough word to describe her dedication to our children.  She is currently enduring her own struggles and the weight is more than most of us can even imagine. 

In December of 2014, Stacey was diagnosed with Multiple Myleloma Cancer.  This is a cancer that is tough, painful, and abhorrently expensive.  She needs our help.  Not just coworkers, but she needs the help of anyone that has experienced a teacher like her.  As a society, we are constantly commenting about how little teachers earn, how hard teaching must be, how few accolades educators receive.  This is an opportunity for us as a nation to come together and help a teacher in need.  Let me rephrase that, it is time for us to come together to show that teachers like Stacey are not forgotten, and show that we are compassionate and giving.  Help us, help Stacey ease some of her struggle.
