Help a Family Rebuild After Devastating Loss
Donation protected
Wednesday, February 25th a nightmare began for my family. I saw on local news that our storage units had been broken into.
My family has been saving for over a year to buy our first home. We are currently living in a tiny apartment so basically everything we owned other than our clothes are a total loss.
We're hoping that we can take legal action against the company because we have proof that all of our things have been sitting outside since the second week of January.
We lost our refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, every kitchen gadget that I've collected over the years are gone. Every power tool is gone.
The things that have broken my heart are things that money can't buy and will never be able to be replaced. My Christmas decorations I've been collecting since I was in high school & 70-year-old China were stomped into the ground like they meant nothing at all.
We have proof that our things have been sitting outside since the second week in January while the property managers have continued to pull rent from our bank account every month but they failed to let any customers know about the break-ins.
One of the most heartbreaking things I had to hear a grown man wailing and absolute pain because he'd also lost everything.
We are still in the process of buying a home and hopefully that will still happen in the next 3 months, but that means we will be starting over completely from the ground up.
The pictures of the storage units look like something from a post-apocalyptic movie.
We have water damage to family photos and it seems like the list of things we need is growing everyday. Yes we have insurance & they will pay out 3000.00 but that doesn't even cover our the appliances that we lost. We are hoping to take legal action but that takes time and potentially money for filing costs etc.
It absolutely hurts my pride and heart to ask for help but God knows we need it.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me directly. KATV in Little Rock covered the story and we're finding more and more info about the neglect of the property everyday.
