2025 focused fundraising starts TODAY!!
WE ARE KICKING OFF THE ANNUAL JEFF DINGUS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISING EVENT! ALL DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TO THE BIG WALNUT EDUCATION FOUNDATION.
The scholarship is in honor of Jeff Dingus, a 16-year-old Big Walnut High School student whose violent and untimely death impacted not only family and friends but the Sunbury, Ohio community. The scholarship is awarded annually to a high-performing student selected by the Big Walnut Education Foundation. With your help, more scholarships can be awarded!
The scholarship fund was founded in 2017, the 30th anniversary of Jeff's death. Donations are accepted year-round; however, a focused fundraising drive occurs annually between Jeff's Birthday (April 11th) and the day we lost him (May 14th). The activity provides a positive distraction for family and friends through such a troubling time. Any donation amount or memories of Jeff are welcome by his family and friends. This year is especially difficult due to the passing of Jeff's father in December 2024.
Jeff's entire family is humbled by the generosity received thus far. In 2024, an eighth scholarship was awarded, and the amount was increased to help offset growing tuition costs! With continued support, we hope to provide scholarships to many more deserving students.
Donations are transmitted from the GoFundMe site directly to the Jeff Dingus Scholarship Fund (c/o the Big Walnut Education Foundation). All donations are tax-deductible!
