David is currently a patient in medical ICU at Shands in Gainesville, FL. He had a bilateral lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis. After almost 12 years, his lungs are now failing. David has been fighting two very aggressive forms of chronic organ rejection for over a year now. His body is no longer responding to treatments and he’s losing his fight. We have had some tough conversations and made the difficult decision to enter into Hospice care. Here’s where I need your help. David’s wish is to go home. In order to get him home, he needs to be transported from Gainesville, FL to Mulberry, FL via critical care transport due to his O2 needs. I contacted my insurance company and they confirmed they will not cover the cost of transport. The social worker told us we need a minimum of $5,000 to get David home. Help me bring David home.
