Help Georgina Get To Auckland

On 12 February I fell ill and the following week was diagnosed with glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis). I have now had 12 weeks off work and am currently only doing 3 hours a day. I suffer from depression and during this period my mood has been getting worse and worse. I am normally an outgoing busy person and in the last 3 months have had to cut out most everything. I was holding onto the idea of going to New Zealand in July to present a workshop on collaborative learning at the STARS conference unistars.org (Students Transitions Achievement Retention and Success). I wanted to share my knowledge and skills with the higher education community, particularly those who struggle getting students to collaborate. I put a workshop proposal in before I got sick in January and was recently accepted, however the budget is tight this year and I'm not able to be funded by my institution. I can pay for it myself if necessary but I'm hoping some kind friends would help me out. I am asking because I am so sick and depressed. I really need something to look forward to. This is the only conference I have a chance of attending this year because of my reduced hours, lack of leave (I'm rapidly using up leave trying to recover) and the intensity of workload during semester (not possible to take time off). Would you help me get to the STARS conference and give me something to look forward to? Please know that if you can't help or don't want to, no need to apologise. Please don't berate me for asking: I'm really not in a space to cope with criticism. Thank you for reading.
