I recently found a dog who was tied to a post with a sign that said 'please take me.' She was brought to me cold, shivering, and clearly in distress—so hungry and thirsty that it broke my heart. As I looked her over, I realized she had been hurt before and had suffered from neglect for some time.

I reached out to Mohawk Hudson, who suggested I call animal control to pick her up. While I know they do great things for animals, I am struggling with the idea of giving her up to be caged, especially after what seems like previous abuse. I truly believe she needs more love and care than a shelter can provide right now. I can give her constant attention, love, and affection, and I can get her to the vet—but I need help with the costs. If I surrender her, I may never see her again, and I don't want to do that.

She requires treatment for ear mites, deworming, vaccinations, and likely other medications to help her heal. Every donation will go directly to her vet bills, medication, and general care. While I am not set up to take care of a dog long-term, she has truly stolen my heart. She is so well trained and gentle, and all she wants is to be near someone who cares for her.

My hope is to help her feel better, show her what love and kindness are, and eventually help her find a new, loving home. Distemper/Lepto/Lyme: $85 (Separate $40 - $60 each)

Biohazard fee: $5

Bloodwork (wellness panel) $100 - 200

Heartworm test: $35 - $75

Fecal Exam: $25 - $50

Ear cleaning: $50

Ear meds: $40

Eye exam $200 (may need specialist ophthalmologist)
