Life for her recently seemed to be turning around for the better...she was finally settled in her new home, she started an awesome new job that she loved, she had made some new close friends, and she was eager to go back to school to get her teaching credentials. She had finally conquered much of what had kept her down in life over the years. I was so proud of her. However, as it seems, life always has a curve ball waiting for you when you least expect it, just like life did for her.

In an unexpected turn of events Friday morning, my family and I suffered a great loss....my mom and best friend, Kimberly, passed away in her sleep. Although broken at the thought of never again seeing her or hearing her voice, I am comforted knowing that heaven has gained an angel.

Everyone that knew Kimberly loved her for her bubbly sense of humor, her compassion for animals, her strong love for her children, and simply how wonderful she was. Although life for her was tough at times, Mom did amazingly well with what she had raising my brother, Chris, and I. I am so thankful to have had her as mother. My mom was, and will always be, my best friend and I will miss her immensely.

Although she worked very hard to provide for herself and her loved ones, my mom did not have much money to spare each month. Further, given that she was only 56 years old and in relatively good health, my mother had not yet made any plans or arrangements for an event like this. At this point, my brother and I are doing everything we can to take care of her finances and to cover the costs of her cremation and Celebration of Life service.
