Winston's medical costs and rehab.

Last year Dennis and Pamela Fitzmaurice went to Africa on Safri and "adopted" an African family or more particularly the head of the family Alex, who was their personal guide for two weeks.

Above is Winston who is the real subject of this campaign.

Alex his father is a gentle giant of a man, of a Christian family, who took us into his heart and he into ours.

Dennis and Pam have received regular emails and beautiful FaceTime and Skype calls from Alex.

But recently we received an urgent call from Alex seeking our assistance for his youngest son Winston aged 6 years.

Above is a photo of Winston in the Tanzania Public Hospital holding his head in pain, prior to the tests which showed he had a large life threatening tumour on his brain.

Now we are nearly 8 months after our return from Africa and just a few weeks ago we  received the distressed and distressing phone call from Alex and at the same time he sent us a copy of photos which we will try and add to the site also, he was asking for help "to save my beautiful son Winston".

Immediate financial assistance was provided to assist with the first operation.

We are now seeking your assistance & requesting our Facebook family and friends and if possible, their families and friends (please share) to assist in any way you/they can.

We are Seeking your assistance to help cover Winston's second operation and associated medical costs.

We have been able to send the costs for the first operation, but need your help in any way you can, by way of donation.

PLEASE, just any amount you can spare.

Winston has a life threatening tumour in his head and the first operation last Friday (15/4) drained fluid and the smaller of the tumours.

On Friday evening (22/4) our time, the second  operation to remove the larger tumour took place. It was successfully removed by a team of Surgeons from Kenya United Sates and the U.K.  Alex reported that it was very successful without any complications over six hours.

We will attempt to include photos as they come to hand of Winston, the family and Alex together with reports of Winston's progress on this site and on Facebook.

This is a most genuine request. We,  Dennis and Pamela, have spoken to the medical staff in Arusha Tanzania, and await a further post op call from the Medical Team in Nairobi, Kenya.

Alex sends regular emails and we have made calls to him to provide emotional support and to receive updates.

Alex has sent a personal thank you email, (within hours of receiving donations), direct to those who have already made a donation.

All donations received will be sent on to Alex. We will cover all commissions and fees incurred .

We URGENTLY seek your assistance in donating what ever you can manage.

We also ask for you to share this message to immediate family and friends and extended Facebook family and friends and acquaintances.

Kind regards
Dennis and Pamela Fitzmaurice
