We're desperately trying to save our best friend.

This is going to be longwinded, but try to bear with me - TLDR/summary at the end - I never imagined being in this situation before and am begging for help.

This is Hadley, she's almost 6 years old, and if you've ever been in a room with her you know that she's a best friend for life. Everyone she meets receives the most enthusiastic snuggles they could hope for, dozens of kisses, and, admittedly, a healthy coating of fur shed onto whatever outfit they're wearing. Hadley has always been happy and healthy, and has been so thoroughly loved by our family since the day we met her. She loves cuddling up under the blankets to go to sleep, sitting on the porch in the sun, and running around the backyard or just cuddling up on a couch or pet bed or any surface available with her best friend, Shinobi. She gets scratches and peanut butter from my father, loves sitting in bed with my sister and her boyfriend, and is a master of convincing anyone she's around to give her a bite of whatever they might be eating. She's a daddy's girl, and whenever her dad, Dylan, is home, she's glued to him, trying to sit in his lap or smush their faces together so he'll give her attention, which he will always drop anything and everything he's doing to provide. She's always had a ton of energy, loves chew toys and walks, and has an insatiable appetite for chicken, cheese, and... well, anything, really. She has been spoiled and pampered and adored since the second she entered our lives.

A couple weeks ago, she started acting different. She started having accidents inside, was getting more and more lethargic, and stopped being interested in food. She was taken to an emergency vet, and it was discovered that her ALT (liver enzymes) were much higher than they should be. We were given medication for her and were told to keep an eye on her for the next week and to schedule a follow-up appointment to see if she improved.

She didn't.

After her follow-up with her normal vet, she didn't seem any better, but her ALT levels had gone down a bit - still nowhere close to the normal range, but on paper she was improving. In person, though, she was barely willing to move, had to be carried most places even just around the house, and became almost entirely uninterested in any food she was offered - even her favorites. She was given another round of prescriptions and we were told to keep a close eye on her.

We gave it a few days, but she kept declining.

She was taken back to an emergency animal hospital, where it was decided that she needed to be held overnight for observation, diagnostic testing, and more medication. She's at the point of barely being willing to move at all, sleeps almost all the time, won't accept any food, and keeps having accidents (seemingly without even noticing it's happening). Since yesterday (August 7th), she has been kept at the hospital in the hopes that they can figure out what's wrong with her.

Hadley is the sweetest pup I've ever known. She knows whenever anyone is upset or sick and always makes sure to give them extra love so they can feel better. She has gotten all of us through some of the hardest times of our lives. We want to give that back to her. We want to do anything and everything possible to make her better, because she deserves to live a long and healthy life full of the love that she's always known. She is the best friend of everyone in our family, and we can't lose her.

We were barely scraping by as it is, and after already spending far, far more money than we really had at our disposal, the cost of all of the testing and medical care has put us in an impossible situation. We just want Hadley to be okay. We all need her to be okay. With her diagnosis still being unknown and the possibilities of more testing, a pacemaker, or countless other potential remedies still being on the table, our options are wearing thin... but failure can't be an option. She deserves so much more than that.

Any donations made would give us the opportunity to give Hadley the care she needs and deserves. She still has no diagnosis, and the tests that she needs to have done can only be done at the rate that her body can handle - which, at the moment, is especially limited - and with how quickly she's been declining we are already working on borrowed time. Please help us provide the care for her that she needs. Any amount at all - and if you can't afford to donate, if you could just share our story - would be appreciated beyond belief.

TLDR; Our family dog will not survive much longer without further medical attention. Per doctors' recommendation, we are having test after test done, and all are coming back negative. Between testing and hospitalization, credit cards are being maxed out as we have to pay per-day for her care to continue as we try to find the cause of her illness. Donations go towards keeping her stable and pain-free while we work toward a diagnosis, and treatment after a solution is found.
