Hi! My name is Melissa. I am fundraising for my friend Tami and her family.

Tami's son TJ O'Donnell is a bright and witty 13 year old boy from Cherry Hill, NJ. TJ is currently at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia with pneumonia. He is on a ventilator.

TJ is in a wheelchair due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is a rare genetic condition characterized by progressive muscle weakness. (cureduchenne.org) Duchenne effects all muscles in the body.

I started this fundraiser because both of TJs parents are at the hospital with him. They have not been able to work, as their number 1 priority is to support and comfort their son. I would like to take something off their shoulders so they can concentrate on TJ.

Funds will be used to allow both of his parents to be by his side during this crucial time by providing funds for everyday bills, gas, and food. It will also help with any medical equipment TJ may need when he comes home. TJ is expected to be in the hospital for some time.

11/16 Here is the latest update from TJs mom; An accident during treating for pneumonia caused tares on TJ’s lungs. He is on a ventilator and we are hoping these leaks heal. He cannot be 100% put under due to Duchenne so he feels all the hoses, chest tube and discomfort. It is our worst nightmare come true. His tears tell us when he needs to be comforted, but there is not much We can do other than talk to him and hold his hand.
