Hector "Papa" Roca has been a part of the boxing community at Gleason's and beyond for decades. Training champs and amateurs. Actors and actresses. Rich and poor. He has an army of friends who affectionately call him Papa or The Professor or The General. While he's likely screamed at you or called you names, he's also the person who would jump in front of a train to take care of "his people." To ensure you throw that punch correctly, defend yourself, RELAX, enjoy yourself, win, and above all....look good doing it.
Last week Hector suddenly fell gravely ill with kidney failure and an abdominal aneurysm. He's been in the hospital since.
As he is treated and during recovery, he will need help from the massive global community of fighters and friends whose lives he's touched. I realize the holidays are here, but if you have the means, please consider contributing to this fund to help with his mounting costs while he gets treatment.
