Cancer Treatment for Tammy

On Nov 5th of this year, my mom, Tammy Whitted, an active and otherwise healthy woman, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with metastases to the liver and lungs. She has two large tumors that will need to be surgically removed and she will have to undergo a total of 6 months of aggressive chemo treatments.

We are devastated and heartbroken by this unexpected news. If not for Jehovah's steadying hand and the support of our friends and family, we would hardly know how to cope. 

We are overwhelmed with gratitude at the outpouring of love and support from friends, family members, and acquaintances. So many people are offering prayers, words of encouragement, and asking how else they can be of support.  

While mom does have insurance, the copays, coinsurance, and medical bills are quickly becoming overwhelming, the surgical procedures that she will need are only partially covered by insurance, and the cost of the particular type of chemo she will need is very expensive and again, only partially covered.
