Ryan's Battle

Donation protected
**4/15/24 Update: Ryan has completed immense amounts of therapy at Fairlawn Rehab. He has now been cleared to return home! He will continue to have medical support in the home. The cranioplasty and plastic surgery will come in a few months when the surgeon has decided it is time. Until then: HELMET! Thank you all!

**4/5/24 Update: After three total brain surgeries, Ryan is currently stable. He is working on his speech now, connecting thought to word. The staff at UMass is incredibly impressed with his progress thus far. We are immensely appreciative of the overwhelming support we have received so far. As Ryan begins to converse, we will surely inform him of all of the love that has been sent to him during this time. Thank you

Hello All,
For those of you who are unaware, Ryan is currently in the neuro ICU after experiencing a severe subdural hematoma on Saturday March 31, 2024.
He took a nap after reporting a headache and woke but was not the same. If it were not for the quick reaction from Kristy Sattler Lanigan, Ryan would not be alive today. She immediately sprang into action by calling 911. He was acting oddly and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance around 5:40pm on March 31, 2024. They completed a CT scan which showed severe blood buildup in the head which prompted an emergency Medflight to UMass Memorial University Campus in Worcester. He was put into a medically induced coma and later underwent an emergency craniotomy beginning around 11PM Saturday evening. Around 3am on March 31, 2024, we all took sighs of relief as Ryan had survived the surgery.
After surgery, Ryan was confused and disoriented but this is normal for what he experienced. He remains in critical condition. Since the original surgery, they have completed two additional surgeries to remove blood buildup from his brain. When conscious, he can recognize faces but is unable to recall names, dates, and where he is or what happened. His speech is minimal though there are moments when you can see Ryan is still in there, especially when he wont stop fidgeting with all of the medical equipment. We are unable to determine how much Ryan will recover from this experience though we all are manifesting that he will come back to us.
During all of this, family and friends have shown their overwhelming support and love. We are all so grateful for the hundreds of prayers that have been sent as we will take any amount of positivity as possible. We hope that Ryan is able to push through each day, though the weight is heavy as we all navigate the difficulties associated with watching someone we love so dearly struggle.
This GoFundMe is intended to support Ryan's medical bills and recovery after his hospital stays. Any amount will help and we cannot express our gratitude enough. If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to any of Ryan's family such as his children (Halle, Ethan, and Abbey), his ex-wife (Angela), his mother (Patricia), his father (Dave) and Marianne, and his ex sister in law (Kristy).
Continue to pray for Ryan as he battles each day for his life. Thank you.
