We all face times in our lives where it feels like life has piled challenges in front of you. Our dad is not the type of person to ask for help. He is 77 years old and has gone back to work full-time to help make ends meet. His social security and his 40 hour work week pay his expenses barring any unexpected additional expenses. We, his family, have made a concerted effort to move him into a cheaper apartment and lower monthly expenses. That being said, his knee has been deteriorating for a long while now and he has had to face the choice of not getting his knee replaced, which will force him out of work, or biting the bullet to get the knee replacement knowing that leaves him out of work for 2 months to recover. Tomorrow he goes in for his knee replacement surgery. We are putting this out there knowing that all his energy needs to be focused on recovery so he can get back to work.
