My name is Milagro Martinez. I’m a 45-year-old woman from Los Angeles, California. I’ve lived with pain for years because of my endometriosis, but in November I suffered through the worst pain I have ever felt. It turned out to be an abscess that almost burst, and it could have killed me. In January I had a colonoscopy done, and I had a tumor that was cancerous. In March I had surgery due to complications because of a previous procedure and I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. After that surgery and hospital stay I found out that I had stage 3 colon cancer. To do the treatment I have to see four different doctors; a primary doctor, an oncologist, a surgeon, and a gastrointestinologist. I will also have follow up tests, and I still need chemotherapy. I feel I am ready for the upcoming battle with cancer but because of the treatment I haven’t been able to work. I do have medical insurance, but it doesn’t cover everything. I know that I will need your help, and support in order to beat this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I would like to thank everyone in advance for supporting me through this difficult time.
