Hi all! Apparently, having a heart attack is quite expensive! The hospital bills have already started rolling in, short term disability has not started yet, although they say I'm approved....that's as far as I've gotten. My next paycheck should have 2 days of vacation on it, but I don't think that will cover my pre tax deductions including my health insurance which would be devastating to lose at this point.
House bills are paid through November but that's it. Not only do I have zero income at this point, I have added expenses including hospital bills, prescriptions and rehab services that are only covered at 50% ( 36 mandatory sessions, then we move to the next phase)
My cardiologist and fmla have approved me the month of November off of work to go to rehab and work on getting my heart stronger and as long as it's functioning at 35% or above by December 1st, I should be released to go back to work. ( Right now I'm considered heart failure as my heart function is between 20 and 30 % )
My team of doctors are very hopeful that we can get my heart back to where it needs to be, so that helps keep me hopeful, but at the same time panicked because I can't work 1 job right now, let alone 2 and I have no idea how I'm going to make it through this setback.
I don't know what else to do at this point, so I thought I'd give this a try. If you need any more details that I didn't provide, please feel free to reach out and I'll answer the best I can.
Thanks for everything!!
