Lisa’s final stage of her colon cancer battle

Donation protected

We have been trying to raise funds to help my sister in law Lisa in her continuing stage 4 colon cancer battle!

Anyone who has met Lisa will tell you she is hilarious, kind and as strong as they come. She is quick to bring joy to those around
her, whether that is her friends and family
or most recently, the nurses and doctors
who have supported her in her home and
the hospital throughout her ongoing battle with cancer.

In April 2021, at 49 years old, Lisa went in
for surgery to investigate a gastrointestinal
issue that had caused her to be hospitalized multiple times. The result of the surgery was a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, which was both unexpected and heartbreaking. Lisa’s spirit and resilience are so unconquerably bright that even a cancer diagnosis couldn’t keep her down. She was immediately ready to fight and went into chemo treatment shortly after.

In December 2021, it was confirmed that her care plan was not delivering the results her team had hoped for. Lisa was in the hospital much of the period of December through to March due to complications, at which time, some big decisions were made to support her continued care. Lisa was told she would need to move to a more focused maintenance to reduce complications and this included removing food from her diet entirely and receiving nutrition through an IV, to which she is hooked up for 12 hours every day. At that time, she also underwent surgery to add an external bag to her stomach and many medications were added to her daily care plan all in hopes of keeping her out of the hospital and comfortable in her home while she fights this fight. She is currently undergoing immunotherapy with an incredibly positive attitude and continuing to brighten the lives of the people around her.

  • Lisa is an infinitely loving Mom, Grandmother, Wife and friend and the last year has been full of challenges. Her incredible outlook is why we ask you to join her fight by supporting this campaign. Lisa has not been able to work since her diagnosis so this will help with bills and allow her to focus on her battle rather than her finances. Beyond that, it will also give us the opportunity to show Lisa in a big and tangible way how we appreciate her strength, kindness and positive attitude as she moves forward with her fight.
