Robert Foreman's Stroke Fund

Donation protected
I am Allison, the daughter of Robert Foreman.  Janine Bull, a close family friend and I, are are setting up this go fund me account to help my father who suffered a devastating stroke 21 months ago.

Even though Willie,  my Mom, got Dad to the hospital within the crucial time and the Doctors gave him the clot buster medication, the stroke was so severe that it left him completely paralyzed on the left side. For a simple task, such as getting in and out of bed, Dad needs the assistance of two people including a lift. After spending 8 months in the hospital, recovering cognitively and even though he needs 24/7 care, my Mom decided to bring him home.

My Dad has shown time and time again that he is a man with a good heart and has always been that person and neighbour to go over and above with acts of kindness. He is a wonderful father, friend, is completely devoted to his family and adores his grandchildren.

The expenses for Mom are overwhelming but she does her best. In order to further support her efforts we are setting up this fund to help ease the financial burden of purchasing some of the larger and key necessities that will enable Dad to live more independently.  If we are successful with reaching our goal amount, My Parents would be purchasing first a wheelchair lift to provide mobility between the main floor and the basement of their residence. The remainder would go towards a wheelchair accessible van.

Mom would like to provide my Dad with more space as his current bedroom and bathroom are too cramped and difficult to maneuver within. She would need to install the wheelchair lift, which is approximately $15000,  then she could build a more appropriate-sized bedroom and bathroom in the basement that could accomodate the wheelchair as well as Dad's assistive care workers.  Dad is also completely dependent on the para-transit system which must be booked at least three days in advance of any outing. Therefore, purchasing a wheelchair accessible van would allow them both to become more independent within their daily lives.

Please consider donating any amount. It is both greatly appreciated and will help to improve the quality of life for my Mom, Dad, and our family.
