Loki is a sweet, happy-go-lucky pup who was rescued by Del Mar Dog Rescue just one hour before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She’s between 1 and 2 years old, with the gentlest soul and a joyful spirit that lights up every room. You’d never guess she’s been through so much in her short life.
We’ve been fostering Loki and helping her heal emotionally and physically. But recently, after weeks of unexplained bleeding, she was diagnosed with TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor) — a form of cancer commonly seen in areas with large stray dog populations like where she was found.
The good news?
TVT is curable through chemotherapy. Once she completes treatment, Loki has an incredible chance at a long, healthy, happy life.
The hard part?
The cost.
Each chemo treatment is $430, and Loki may need up to 8 treatments.
That’s over $3,400 just for chemo alone.
We’ve already paid over $900 out of pocket for the diagnostics, bloodwork, and scope that confirmed her diagnosis. And while Del Mar Dog Rescue would love nothing more than to cover her care, they’re currently overwhelmed with multiple medically complex cases and simply don’t have the funds.
We’re not willing to give up on Loki — and we’re asking for your help.
Every donation — big or small — brings us one step closer to:
Funding her life-saving chemotherapy
Covering the cost of her past and ongoing medical needs
Giving Loki the healthy, love-filled life she deserves
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Every share can help us reach the people who can make a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. For seeing Loki. For believing her life is worth saving. And for being part of her healing journey.
If we’re able to surpass our goal to cover Loki’s chemo treatments, any additional funds raised will be donated directly to Del Mar Dog Rescue so they can continue to provide crucial services to high risk dogs in the San Diego area.
With love and hope,
Loki’s foster family
