Dustin Bennie and I, Ryan Bennie, are setting this campaign up for our mom. I'm a firefighter who works in Napa County and a son to a mother who lost her home to fire. Our mother Cindy Bennie and Ken Gingrich lost their home and everything in it Saturday night in Middletown during the Valley Fires early hours.
I was on the phone with them for 6 hours talking them through what they needed to do, where the fire was and "trigger points" on when to leave if it reached a certain spot. They stayed till the bitter end and were only able to grab all the animals, the vehicles and most importantly themselves. They left with no shoes, no clothes but the clothes that they were wearing and that's it! Cindy even had to leave one of her flip-flops when running to the car.
This money will go to regaining their home and themselves. They will rebuild. Their life will still be amazing. They just have to get through this big hurdle in their life. For anyone who has ever dealt with insurance companies, this process is very time consuming, and most claims require you to replace all of your belongings and then submit receipts. Otherwise, they only get a percentage of their valuables as a result of “depreciation”. They cannot afford to replace everything on their own.
These donations will go to clothes, appliances, food, toiletries, bedding, etc etc. Anything is very much appreciated.
Huge thanks from the Bennie and Gingrich families.
