Hi, I'm Aaron, and I'm trans non-binary. I've known I need to get top surgery for several years now, and I've finally been able to start putting things in place for it to go ahead. The only spanner in the works is that it's going to cost a fair amount of money, and I could really do with your help to make it happen.

Currently, I have to wear a tight sports bra or a binder every day to hide my chest. It's uncomfortable, and there's significant evidence that doing this for several years can have some really damaging effects on your body. I wear oversized clothes, and struggle in hot weather because I can't wear anything that shows my chest or my binder. It also means I avoid lots of activities I used to love: I can't go swimming, for example, and I don't feel comfortable using changing rooms.

I'm not sure I can put into words how transformative getting top surgery would be for me. It would massively improve my back and posture. It would make me far more comfortable going out, especially when it's hot, and let me go swimming and do activities that require changing rooms, such as going to the gym. And of course it would be a huge boost to my self image and self confidence.

Top surgery would quite simply change my life. I have a consultation with a surgeon in Lyon in May, and with current waiting times, I'm hoping to have the surgery before the end of the year. However, because I'm not French, it's looking likely that I'm going to have to pay for the entire thing, and that's where I need your help.

I don't have the exact figure yet, but I've been told it will be around 5000 euros. I'll update this gofundme once I do have that figure, but until then, I'll be aiming for this provisional amount plus gofundme commission. If you can give anything at all, I'd be incredible grateful. Whether or not you can contribute, it would also be amazing if you could share this with your friends and family, and ask them to donate.

Salut, moi c'est Aaron, je suis une personne trans non-binaire. Ça fait des années que je veux me faire une mammectomie, et j'arrive enfin à mettre les choses en place pour la faire. Le seul souci, c'est que l'opération va me coûter très très cher, et j'ai vraiment besoin d'aide pour pouvoir la réaliser. `

Actuellement, je dois porter un binder ou un soutif de sport très serré tous les jours. C'est désagréable, parfois douloureux, et le faire pendant des années peut avoir un effet néfaste sur le corps. Comme je ne peux pas porter de vêtements serrés au torse ou laissant mon binder apparaitre, je porte habituellement des vêtements amples/épais, ce qui est penible lorsqu'il fait chaud. De plus, pour la même raison, j'évite beaucoup d'activités que j'adorais faire auparavant : je ne vais plus nager, par example, et me changer dans des vestiaires communs me met mal à l'aise.

Il m'est impossible de vous dire à quel point la mammectomie transformerait ma vie. Elle améliorerait mes problèmes de dos et de posture. Elle me permettrait de sortir plus librement, surtout en été, et me donnerait la possibilité d'aller nager ou de faire des activités qui nécessitent l'usage de vestiaires. Et, bien sûr, elle révolutionnerait mon rapport à moi-même et mon estime de moi.

En un mot, la mammectomie changerait ma vie entière. J'ai un rendez-vous avec un chirurgien à Lyon en mai, et, si tout se passe bien, j'espère pouvoir me faire opérer d'ici la fin de l'année. Par contre, comme je ne suis pas français, je vais très probablement devoir payer l'intégralité des frais médicaux. C'est à ce propos que j'ai besoin de votre soutien.

Je n'ai pas de chiffre exact pour l'instant, mais on m'a dit que ça coutera aux alentours de 5000 euros. Je mettrai ce gofundme à jour une fois que j'aurais le montant exact des frais. D'ici là, je vais viser cette somme provisoire. Si vous pouvez contribuer, quel que soit le don, je vous en serais éternellement reconnaissant.
