My dearest friend in the world, Dana Montero, has suffered a devasting loss last night when she was awoken in the middle of the night to a fire in the unit below hers.  The fire spread quickly upwards, requiring her, her husband and their two children to flee with just the pajamas on their backs.   

Thankfully, they are all okay, as is Journey, her Bernese Mountain Dog who is also her service dog, and her cat Santi.  Unfortunately the same cannot be said for her other cat, Furby, and one of her guinea pigs.

As it stands right now, the apartment floor is unstable and therefore they cannot return to obtain any more belongings.  The entire apartment and everything in it is expected to be deemed a total loss.  All of Journey's service gear is also destroyed.

I'm asking you all to donate whatever you can, and share this page far and wide, in hopes that we can help her and her family get back on their feet.   You are also welcome to contact me with any questions or for information on where to send any goods.  Please bear in mind that international shipping into Spain will result in customs fees for packages weighing over 4lbs. 

Dana has spent YEARS helping me, and countless others, in so many many ways.  I know she hates that she is now the one in need, which is why I'm making this plea on her behalf, because she would never ask for the help herself.
