Matthew Francis is an 18 yr old young man who resides in KCMO. Matthew is a gentle giant who deeply loves his family and is active in his church and community.

On Friday July 10, Matthew was violently assaulted by two individuals while parked in his car. He was struck in the head and arm with a hammer and his car was stolen. Matthew required stitches and staples for his Injuries and will require additional medical follow up. Thankfully, Matthew's 4 month old Rottweiler puppy “Roc” was able to get out of the vehicle in time and wasn’t taken. Matthew had just purchased his older model car with cash he had been saving from working various jobs.  Today Matthew received a phone call from the Sheriff’s Department in Nemaha, Nebraska informing him that his vehicle was found with the two individuals who assaulted him, sleeping inside the car. Guns, drugs and various weapons were also discovered. The individuals were taken into custody with numerous charges and extradition is pending. We do not know the condition of the vehicle nor when it will be released. In addition, approximately $650 worth of baseball equipment was also stolen from the car. Matthew was preparing to start the baseball season with the RBI league (Reviving Baseball in the Inner City).  But won’t be able to as he no longer has his gear. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover present and future medical expenses, replace baseball equipment and to purchase a much needed vehicle. We as his church family (Rock Family of Kansas City) are asking for your support to help Matt get back on track. This has been an extremely traumatic experience for Matthew and his family.
