Indigo's Gender Affirming Healthcare

Hey lovelies,

I’m Indigo (she/her), a Brazilian trans girl based in Glasgow. After 6 years, I’m still on the NHS waiting list and haven’t been able to get any treatments through them. It’s been some expensive few years trying to get all the procedures I need privately.

I’ve been planning to have gender affirming surgery for a while now and just had my consultation with a doctor that works with patients that have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome like me.

For my safety, the doctor has said to have this surgery in two stages to be more careful due to my disability as I have a higher risk of complications and will have a longer recovery. However, because of this, the surgeries will cost way more than what I was expecting. I’m planning on getting the first stage in two months, and the second stage 6 months after that.

In total, the two stages will cost around £20k, but I only have £5k saved up and was hoping to raise the rest. After recovering from the first stage, I’ll be working as much as possible to raise money for the second stage, but I’m just having this amount as part of the GoFundMe now to help me as much as possible to put that money together.

I’ve asked for support from the community before for other surgeries, which were integral to my mental health and well-being and I’m so grateful for all the support so far. I’ve created this GoFundMe as it’s not possible for me to get this procedure saving up on my own.

I don’t want to share about specific surgery names or details as this is a much more personal procedure for me. But I know this will help me tremendously and I appreciate all the support you can give.
