On Sunday morning August 25, 2019 my tio Matt Favila started having seizures in his home. His wife and 3 daughters helped him until EMS could transport him to the nearest hospital. A few hours and an airplane ride later, he arrived to Midland Memorial Hospital. MRI scans have shown that he has a large mass deep in his brain by his frontal lobe. This area of the brain affects memory, and when agitated, can cause seizures.
On Tuesday September 3, 2019 he had an appointment at MD Anderson in Houston. His doctor will be performing surgery to remove most of the tumor in the next week or two. Since not all of the tumor will be removed, my tio will have to stay in Houston for at least 6 weeks to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy. He is in great spirits and is currently taking medication to help control the seizures and brain swelling.
This unpredictable diagnosis will bring a heavy financial burden to the Favila family. Any donation or prayer will be truly appreciated by our entire family. My tio is a man of God and one of the best men I’ve ever known, he will fight this!
Joshua 1:9- Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Psalm 23- The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
