Hi everyone. I’m raising funds for my cat Luna who needs an emergency cystotomy.
Last week, Luna started showing signs of unusual behavior. She started peeing outside the litter box, grooming herself more than usual, and refusing to eat. At one point, she tried using the litter box and let out a loud, painful cry. I knew something was very wrong and took her to the vet for a check up the next day.
Luna’s urine had blood in it, and x-rays were done after to get to the root cause of this. They initially suspected that it was a minor urinary tract infection (UTI).
After the x-rays, they brought me in and showed me the scans. My heart sank seeing the 4 large stones in her bladder that are too large to be passed through her urethra, causing immense levels of pain. She needs surgery immediately to remove her stones. Without immediate removal, a blockage in her bladder will develop, leading to kidney failure and ultimately, death.
Right now, Luna is taking antibiotics and medicine to help with any discomfort. Her surgery is scheduled for April 9th. Luna’s bloodwork, x-rays, and medicine ended up costing $596. Her cystotomy procedure is estimated to be about $2500.
After the surgery, her stones will be examined to see what exactly caused them to form, and then she will be put on a special diet to stop this from happening in the future.
Any funds that are donated would go towards paying her medical costs. I recently graduated from college and just began working full-time, unprepared for a large emergency medical bill. I would appreciate any support that you can provide, whether it be by sending kind words, sharing the fundraiser, or donating. It would mean the world to me and to Luna.
Thank you so much <3
