Tristan's medical expenses
On the evening of June 27th, after floating the river and while walking back to their cars, Tristan Rosch West (Piper) and three of his friends were unprovokingly harassed, chased, and brutally assaulted by a large group of unknown (and currently unidentified) men.
The three friends sustained injuries of a varying degree, not requiring immediate medical attention after being evaluated by responding paramedics, and are all improving. However, as
Tristan was attacked first, his injuries were extensive. Tristan suffered eyelid lacerations, a shattered orbital wall of the left eye causing further damage to the muscles behind the eye, and a spinal fracture. While the spinal fracture will heal on its own, Tristan must undergo surgery to repair the significant damage to the eye and awaits scheduling with a Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Tristan’s friends and their families now desire to support Tristan through his extensive recovery process. Anyone who knows Tristan knows what a tough, hard-working teenager he is - and that he always brings a happy, uplifting spirit everywhere he goes. We are asking for lots of prayers for him in his recovery, and if you are able to give something to help with their expenses, it would be so helpful! Any funds given will go directly to the family to help with Tristan’s ongoing medical expenses, as well as other financial impacts this has created for their family. Tristan’s mom Megan is self-employed and will continue to be needed to help navigate so many medical needs. Tristan had a job working at a restaurant this summer to save money for college in the fall, but due to his eye injuries especially, it is unknown when he will be able to return to work.
Thank you to everyone for all of your offers of prayers and support for everyone involved in this situation. We appreciate you!
Tristan and his family would also like to express their deepest gratitude. “We have been so incredibly moved by our community's fierce outpouring of love and support. While this event has been horrific and tragic for all, you’ve truly helped remind us that there is still an unbelievable amount of good left in the world. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts”.
