Help save Koda

Hi, we are raising funds to save our dog Koda. It’s weird saying our “dog” because for those of you who know us, know that our dogs are our babies, they’re not just dogs. We have already spent thousands for treatment and there is a lot more to come for this guy. He is strong and young and deserves a fighting chance. Unfortunately this type of treatment needs a specialist and this can be very expensive. We plan on 5 to 7 thousand just for hospitalization and blood work. Any other tests or treatment will be extra on top of that. We are estimating a total of 10,000 on the low end. Any contribution to our fund is greatly appreciated. Help us save our boy! ❤️

UPDATE

Koda is currently home waiting results on a few tests. He had a bone marrow biopsy done as well as a full panel blood work test done to be reviewed by a pathologist at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. He is currently on 6 different medications, he has currently zero platelets and almost zero white blood cells so they did not want to keep him in the hospital where he could catch a sickness from another animal as his body would not be able to fight it. Unfortunately we could not do the full abdominal ultrasound or X-rays that they had recommended because it was simple out of our budget for now so we prioritized the tests they recommended the most. We’re hoping to get answers in a couple days!

UPDATE

Koda is still home waiting on more results from the tests we had done, but we did get some more answers! They believe Koda has an immune mediated attack on his body, so pretty much his immune system is attacking itself. They are starting him on another new medication as well as continuing the 6 we already have to help his body start to regenerate white blood cells. Our plans as of now are to get continued recheck blood work to see if his body is responding. They are giving him 2 months with this medication, if his body doesn’t respond the the diagnosis would be “grave” as they call it. As of now he has a 50/50 chance. As this is still continuing to add to our costs we have already spent, we appreciate anybody that can help, or even pray for us and Koda❤️ Thank you
