My beautiful sister-in-law, Emma Rose Peterson was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in July 2019 after giving birth to her third baby. She began treatment in October 2019 and by April 2020 had found that her cancer had spread to three other locations in her body, which meant she would once again begin treatment.
After battling for over a year and a half, Emma Rose lost her battle March 28th 2021, for everyone who were lucky enough to know Emma Rose, this loss has been extremely devastating.
Emma Rose leaves behind her loving and supportive husband Niles and their three beautiful children, all five years of age and younger. Our hope is that they will always remember their mom for all the amazing things she was, an incredible mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was kind, compassionate, loving, thoughtful, creative and most of all beautiful from the inside out. Beyond all that, she remained unbelievably optimistic and upbeat throughout her entire battle. She was a woman of strength and perseverance and the thought of losing this fight to cancer was something I don’t think she or anyone else ever truly considered.
Niles will now have to step into the role of single parent to three kids, which means more financial stress as he navigates full time parenting while owning and operating his own business.
We believe in Niles' ability to manage this challenge, as he is an incredible father and skilled tradesman, but this new normal for him and the kids will mean lots of adjustments and lots of calling on friends, family and community members to help out as they process their grief while continuing on their journey.
