Hi everyone, my name is Cynthia, and I’m raising funds to help a dog named Harley who is in need of medical care.
Harley has been homeless and belongs to a man named Scott, who loves him deeply but is unable to provide the medical care Harley needs right now. Given Harley’s condition, I know it’s best that he not continue living on the streets, and I’m doing everything I can to help get him the care that he needs.
Harley has been evaluated by a veterinarian, and his bloodwork showed concerning results involving his pancreas and liver, with significantly elevated levels. The veterinarian explained that with results this high, there is concern that something more serious could be going on, including the possibility of something cancerous. Because of this, an ultrasound has been strongly recommended to better understand what is happening internally and to determine the best course of treatment.
Harley has also been experiencing seizures. He has lost a significant amount of weight and is having a hard time keeping his balance, even standing at times. Harley is a very sweet dog who loves to play and is usually energetic, so seeing him in this condition has been heartbreaking.
During his visit today, Harley received IV fluids due to being very dehydrated, medication to help with vomiting, and a B12 injection. We were relieved to see him walk around a bit afterward, but the veterinarian explained that this improvement is temporary and that Harley needs further evaluation. He was sent home with medications and prescription food to help support him in the meantime.
I am currently in the process of working with Scott regarding a possible owner surrender so Harley can receive the care he deserves, but this is not something I can or want to rush. I can’t just take Harley away from someone who loves him. What matters most right now is that Harley gets the medical attention he needs as soon as possible.
As this is all unfolding, Harley is currently under my care and staying with me so he can be monitored and kept safe. Because he has been homeless, there are many medical and basic needs involved in his care.
Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will go toward covering the cost of Harley’s medical treatment.
We are praying that the ultrasound results will give us clarity and allow us to move forward with treatment. Harley deserves to have a good life and deserves this care. He is such a good dog
