Help Sara’s fight against cancer and medical costs

**UPDATE** 7/30/23

**At this point in her journey Sara has completed 4 biweekly rounds of Doxorubicin and Cytoxan, two of the harshest chemotherapy drugs used to treat breast cancer. She’s managed to keep working through it all, however, it took a toll on her immune system and she decided to take a leave of absence at the end of May. 

Currently Sara only has 2 more weekly chemotherapy infusions and then she will be done with her 20 weeks of chemotherapy treatments. She comes out to AZ in 3 weeks for her surgery and possible daily radiation therapy.☢️ 

It has really helped Sara to take a leave from work to focus on her health and healing. With the help of our mom, she has been able to maintain her health and stay balanced with her white blood cell count prior to each chemo treatment.

All funds raised will help Sara maintain her monthly health insurance coverage and loss of pay during her treatment and recovery. Please continue to help us by sharing her journey. ❤️

Hi, my name is Kelly and I’m fundraising for my sister Sara with the support of my family.

My sister is an amazing person that You can always count on to give advice, go to for a joke when life is crappy, and loves the heck out of her kids and family. She’s a strong woman, but even the strongest of female warriors can be knocked down from time to time. With all of us negative for the BRCA genes, breast cancer just wasn’t in our sight line as something we were concerned about.

Then came my sister’s test results telling us that she had breast cancer. It’s been a long road just getting to the point of starting her treatment plan and I’m so thankful that she has the wonderful friends and family supporting her.

She begins the battle of cancer treatment by starting her 20 weeks of chemo on 3/24/23 and then will get set to fly out here to Arizona from Iowa to have a double mastectomy surgery in the fall. There will be medical costs and treatment days that require her to be off from work. This is the main reason for the fundraiser in an effort to alleviate some of the financial stress that we all have for her.
