I got accepted into the University of Michigan’s Sex Therapy & Sexuality Education Certificate Program!!
This has been a dream of mine for years — a space to deepen my work at the intersections of trauma, sexual health, and intersectionality. As a Black embodied therapist, I’m passionate about helping folks cultivate healthier, more empowered relationships with their sexual selves.
Many of us — and especially many women of color — hold multiple, intersecting identities that shape our experiences of sexuality and self. I want to create therapeutic spaces where people can explore these complexities, reconnect with their bodies, and move toward flourishing rather than disconnection.
I also hold a deep interest in working with individuals from religious backgrounds who struggle to reconcile their relationship with body and soul — who wrestle with what it means to be both spiritual and sexual, godly and embodied. My hope is to help people find wholeness in that tension, learning that our sexuality is not separate from our sacredness, but an expression of it.
The total cost of the program is $7,800 ($10,200 is my goal in GoFundMe to cover processing fee), and I’m applying for a scholarship that would cover only about 15–20%. I’m seeking creative and mutually beneficial partnerships with clinicians, practices, organizations or individuals who want to invest in this kind of work.
For those who sponsor or fund part of my training, I’d love to collaborate after the program by developing sexuality education curricula or offering trainings on sex therapy and somatic interventions to integrate into couples and relational work.
If you’ve ever been sponsored or want to help make this dream a shared investment in inclusive sexual health — I’d love to connect with you.
✨ I believe investing in one therapist’s growth can ripple into a whole community’s healing. ✨
