Saudi's Angels of Hope

I am sharing Saudi's story to you all with her permission. In early June, Saudi finally succumbed to the abdominal pain and discomfort she has felt for quite some time now. She went to see a wonderful physician at the demands of one of her great clients. It was then discovered she would need further testing. A week later, Saudi had CT scans done and they discovered a large tumor, surgery was then scheduled for the following week.
We knew the surgery would be extensive. The tumor was thought to be the 8x10 possibly 5"-6" thick and recovery could take up to SIX WEEKS. On July 22nd Saudi's surgery went as well as could be expected, but the news was not what we all hoped for. The tumor was the size of a watermelon, malignant and she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. They went ahead and removed anything else the cancer could attach or spread to. The incision was also a lot more extensive than we originally thought it would be due to the size of the tumor.
Because the diagnoses was malignant, a chemo port has been installed on her rib cage. For those of you that know Saudi, you can imagine that she is ready to grab the bull by the horns and has already tried to convince the Doctors to start the chemo. Of course they have explained this can't be done until she heals from the surgery, possibly another six weeks. There is no way of knowing how much or how long her treatment process will be.
We all love Saudi and this is how we can support her and show her that we love her. She has been the sole provider for her household since, Keith, her husband's health took a turn several years ago. Unfortunately, there is no health insurance in place but we are researching a few possibilities for the chemo treatments as a "charity case" or grants through institutions. Even if this happens, she will still have the medical bills from the hospital and any medicine out of pocket. We hope this will help relieve some of the burden for them financially to help pay for everyday expenses, mortgage payments, possibly travel to the cancer center, truthfully, whatever they may need it for during this process.
No matter how it is you may know Saudi; maybe she grooms your fur baby, maybe she bred your fur baby, maybe you've seen her at the dog shows, maybe you are just a great friend of hers, you know that she is always there to do what she can for others. You also know that she is strong, a little stubborn, full of love and laughter and a fighter. This is our time to rally around her and show her our love and support, so please, do what you can.
