Mom's fight started in December of 2014, just weeks after the passing of her husband, our Father. Mom was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic cancer. Mom immediately started aggressive chemo which consisted of a 5 hour treatment day and continued at home for 2 days. Mom moved to McKinney with Shanda to be closer to work and the hospital, Presby Allen. Mom was given 3 months to live at that time. During the past 9 months Mom has had two C-Scans & a Tumor Marker, resulting with shrinkage of the tumor and no spreading of the cancer. Unfortunately, in the last one to two months Mom has under went 4 parenthesis's due to fluid build up on the abdomen. These are dangerous procedures due to risk of infection. Mom also started a new chemo, which is less aggressive. On November 3rd, 2015 Mom was given until Christmas to live. Devastating news but Mom has decided it's time for a second opinion. Mom and Shanda will be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America on November 15th, 2015 for a week of test and consultations.
