Support Jaylen's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
At just 16 years old, Jaylen had always been known for his love of football. He played as a running back, safety and on special teams for Florin Highschool. Football wasn't just a hobby—it was his passion, something that connected him to his friends and gave him a sense of purpose. But on September 13, 2024, a tragic accident on the field led to a severe injury that doctors could not fully repair. Jaylen has had 5 surgeries within 6 days before his left leg was amputated at his knee, on Thursday September 19, 2024.
On Tuesday September 27 Jaylen was feeling ill and was running a high fever and had to be rushed back in the operating room as he had an infection in his leg. Jaylen now has a wound vac, and we are hoping the infection will subside soon so we can close his leg and start the journey to rehabilitation and healing.
As Jaylen lay in the hospital bed, his parents have been by his side, trying to stay strong in the face of the unimaginable. While they focus on supporting their son, the financial burden they are going to face is overwhelming. His family decided to setup a GoFundMe account to help with the overwhelming financial burden. Any support provided will assist in the financial relief Jaylen’s parents desperately need, allowing them to focus fully on Jaylen’s healing and recovery.
