Shelly's Wheelchair Fund

The average yearly cost of my spinal cord injury is 111,328 and lifetime cost is 2,028,237. Under this  administration I went from being able to get a new wheelchair every four years to every seven.  I am asking for your help because my current wheelchair has become problematic is so many ways & my insurance will not pay for one for six more years.  My WC is not safe and making just surviving from day to day a struggle, its not safe in even a dusting of snow and every time I transfer the arm rest falls on my shoulder, back or head.

I have accepted my life is more difficult because of my SCI but my current chair is making my life harder than it has to be.  Again, I am not eligible for another one for several years. The cost of a new power chair is  $6,000 and I was hoping with your assistance I could raise half of the cost of a new chair to help with the financial burden we would experience as a result of the purchase. 

More importantly,  I will "pay it forward" by giving a portion of the monies raised to  www.Thrivingaftersci.com, a non profit I am involved with along with 4 other motivated individuals. Our mission is to help  other spinal cord patients get the therapies and medical equipment they need to thrive after their sci, not just survive!  A donation in any amount is appreciated.
