Hi, my name is Ashly Giselle, and I never imagined I would be writing something like this. I am organizing this fundraiser for my baby boy, Otis J. Russel, who was recently struck by a car and suffered two broken ribs and a broken pelvis. In a single, terrifying moment, my entire world was turned upside down.
Otis isn’t just a pet — he is my baby, my best friend, my family. He was a Christmas gift to me in 2024, and from the moment I brought him home, he filled a space in my life I didn’t even realize was empty. Living in Charlotte with my family far away, Otis became my comfort, my constant, and my reason to smile on the hardest days. He is the sweetest, most gentle, and loving soul, and seeing him in pain has been absolutely heartbreaking.
The accident has left Otis facing a long and painful road to recovery. He has endured hospital stays, treatments, and is now looking at months of healing, with the chance that he may need physical therapy just to walk again. Watching him struggle to move, cry in pain, and look at me with eyes that don’t understand what happened is something no dog parent should ever experience.
On top of the emotional devastation, the medical expenses have been overwhelming. Emergency care, imaging, medications, follow-up visits, and ongoing treatment have added up quickly, and I am doing everything I can to keep up while making sure Otis gets the care he desperately needs. I want nothing more than to give him the best chance at a full recovery and a pain-free life.
We are hoping to raise $2,500 to help cover these unexpected medical costs. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward Otis’s treatment, recovery, and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Even the smallest act of kindness means more to us than words can express. Your support helps remind me that we are not alone, and that Otis is surrounded by love beyond just our home.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for caring, and for helping my baby boy heal. We will continue to share updates on Otis’s condition and progress. Your kindness and generosity truly mean everything to us.
