Many of my friends have had the pleasure to meet my younger brother Steve “Duke” Rork. Yesterday evening he was hit by a car crossing a street in St Pete Florida. He suffered multiple fractures, a head injury and cuts and bruises. They’re running tests to determine if there are other internal injuries. Needless to say it’s going to be a long recovery.

A little about Duke. He was born with several disabilities and special needs but has always had a job and contributes to society. Publix, where he’s worked for years deserves tremendous credit for hiring and nourishing people like my brother. One of the first things he asked when he regained consciousness was to notify Publix because he didn’t want to let them down.

For those who have not had a chance to meet him, there’s not a sweeter, more giving person than him. Despite the hand he was dealt he’s always been extremely positive and sought to be physically and financially independent.

My sister Robin & I blessed to have him as our brother.

We are not sure what the future holds but just thankful Duke is still with us. Please keep him in your payers.
