Whitneys Medical/School Bills

Donation protected

On August 31st, 2015 Whitney was getting settled into her first semester of college, in her third week on campus at Ohio University. That evening she was doing what she loved, playing soccer. As she was running down the floor she went to stop and severely damaged her knee totalling her ACL and tearing both sides of her Maniscus in her left knee. The events over the past few months have been an up and down coaster ride of emotions for our family. It started with our first attempt of having her knee surgically repaired which ended with her being admitted to ICU after she was accidently injected with Lidocaine, into her femoral artery during the nerve block procedure, sending her body into a seizure. This delayed her surgery possibility for several weeks and ultimately resulted in her having to take a medical leave from school to prevent her from losing the financial aide she had been awarded. So, in October we brought her home. This was really difficult for her as she did not want to leave school.

Our second attempt at surgery was successful and she is working hard through the recovery process. Which brings us to the next part of this adventure. As we have begun the process of working toward getting her back to school in January, we have ran into an issue with her school fees and tuition from the first semester. Because she has no grades from the time she was there, and is showing as not enrolled, the parent plus loan will not cover anything due from that semester. That total is just over $7000.00. This has to be paid before she can return to school.

From the beginning Whitney has been steadfast in her goal to get back to school and be successful. Her goal was to stay in school from the beginning, deal with the injury, recover from surgery there, and push through it all.

Financially, this year has just been one issue after another, from work on our well, to car repairs.  The most recent being $700.00 to get her car repaired so she can drive to work. Up to this point, through our faith, many prayers, and the blessing of others, we've been able to manage. However, with the $5000.00 out of pocket cost not covered by our insurance and the new suprise of the tuition and fee amount, we have hit a wall that we are unable to move past.

We've always believed that God always provides for what we need and will do so again.  Whitney is a special young person who has a drive to get an education and finish school.  She works hard and loves people. She has a no quit spirit and knows that through all this God has watched over her and has a plan that keeps her pushing through adversity.

Any funds collected will go directly to her tuition and school fees first. We will then apply any funds left over to her medical bills. She is scheduled to return to school in January. For her to do this the fees have to paid as soon as possible so she can secure her class schedule and save her housing spot.

We are eternally grateful when ever God chooses to bless us through other people and give Him the praise ahead for what He has in mind for the present journey He has us on.

As we share our story, we can only humble ourselves and trust that if we ask, He will provide.

We thank you for considering our request.
