Kelly Jones Cancer Medical Fund
Donation protected
We are starting this fund raiser on behalf of Kelly Jones and her family. Kelly was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer eight years ago when she was only 41 years old. She had twin 4 year olds, Carly and Kyle, and an 8 year old Debra, and her husband Doug. She opted to have a full mastectomy to improve her survival rate. She endured a difficult year of chemotherapy and radiation. Kelly was "cancer free" for the following four years, but had to maintain frequent doctor appointments, testing, scans, etc. Three years ago, her cancer returned in her liver. They were breast cancer tissues which significantly decreased your survival rate. Kelly had forty percent of her liver removed, and over the next year, two surgeries to remove tumors in her brain. She has been receiving harsh chemotherapy consistently over the past 3 years. Within this past month, the cancer had overtaken her body and there were no more treatments to help her. She is now left her 12 year old twins, 16 year old daughter and her husband who she has been with for the past 27years.
Since Kelly's diagnosis with cancer, she has become an advocate for women with cancer. She has been donating her time using her cosmetology skills to bring a day of beauty to women with cancer and making wigs. Kelly would listen to these women express their fears, anxiety and sadness. Many of these women did not realize Kelly was also suffering with the most horrific cancer prognosis herself. Kelly would then share her story and not just by words, but by her actions, show these women that you can either let cancer beat you down or you can fight and live life to the fullest. This is just one example of so many selfless acts of helping others and also helped promote breast cancer awareness. Her everyday actions inspired hundreds of friends, families and strangers.

Kelly could have been a very bitter person. She lost her only sister to leukemia when Kelly was just a teenager. Her sister left behind 2 toddlers, Justin and Jessica; Kelly helped raise these children and has always been a mother figure to them. Kelly then lost her father while she was pregnant with the twins. And most recently had been helping taking care of her mother who was diagnosed with cancer last year, while continuing to selflessly take care of her entire family.
She is such an important person in my family. She is my husband's, Bruce, best friend and a wonderful sister in law and aunt.
There is so much to say about Kelly that cannot fit on this page alone. She is the most wonderful mom, wife, daughter, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend.
Kelly is one of the most loved people I know. She has touched the hearts of so many. Kelly is selfless and has NEVER expressed self-pity for herself. Her regrets in life are having her family endure this pain with her and leaving her family with this financial burden.
Kelly and her family have never asked for any monetary help during all these years of multiple surgeries, hospital stays, treatments and medications. This family has touched so many people and there is an over pouring of love. We know there are many who have done so much to help and more who want to do something for this family.
Those that know Kelly have been touched by an angel and will be forever grateful.
Unfortunately, Kelly has lost her battle with cancer while we were putting this fundraiser together.
We Love you Kelly and will miss you so very much!!
Rest in peace
