Dear friends, family, and strangers who may be touched by this story
Brianna Kinnear age 28 has been suffering from ulcerative colitis (UC) and its repercussions since the age of 13. She has been through multiple treatments including years of Remicade, Humira, and Imuran. She’s had countless surgeries and had temporary colostomies and reconnections.
A few years ago, and as a last resort before the need for a permanent colostomy, she had a surgery to create a J pouch. This procedure, also called IPAA (ileal pouch-anal anastomosis), includes removing part of the bowel that's causing trouble, including the colon and rectum. The surgeon uses the end of the small intestine, called the ileum, to make a pouch inside the body that collects waste. The surgery did not relieve the constant pain that Bri is in, nor did it solve any of the issues. Since the surgery she has been on constant high doses of antibiotics, suffered from pelvic floor dysfunction, malnutrition, fissures, SIBO, dehydration, received multiple blood transfusions, endured multiple hospitalizations and is in constant pain.
Most recently, she was introduced to a functional medical doctor, Dr. Mark Hyman. Dr. Hyman is world-renowned. People are on waiting lists for years to see him. He has reviewed her medical records and has taken her on as a patient. The initial consultation and following treatments are all out of pocket and expensive but Brianna is willing to do whatever it takes to get healthy.

Brianna has tried the above treatments, along with hypnosis, acupuncture, pelvic floor physical therapy, cryogenic, infrared, and hyperbaric therapies. She has been to the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, and been to California seeking new treatments and relief. Brianna is physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted; she has not had a normal life. She has not been able to work as a result of the multiple treatments and physical symptoms
Throughout all this, Brianna was able to complete her bachelors and masters degrees at Kent State. However, her condition has become so chronic that she has not been able to work. Brianna had to cancel her wedding plans a few years ago to have a surgery! Throughout all of this her fiancé Eric, along with her parents and family members have stood by her side and have supported her not only financially but emotionally as well. She just wants a normal life, to be a productive human being, wife, and mother someday. Can you please find it in your heart to help to help this extraordinary young woman? Anything you can give will help. God bless
Brianna also wants you to know the following
She has been so sick and ill and is receiving multiple IV therapies and treatments 5 days a week to keep her moving forward. She is trying to find the words to express how grateful she is for your donations. Know that her daily treatments will give her the chance for success with this next new team of doctors.
