My name is Heather Rembold, and I serve as the Assistant Principal at John Paul II Catholic School. Kelly came to work at JPII 3 years ago, and in that time, she has become an integral part of our JPII family. When Kevin passed away suddenly last week, her JPII family searched for ways in which we could help Kelly. We're hoping that by alleviating her financial burdens, that she will find peace without worry.
Kevin was a New Yorker embraced by his Lowcountry neighbors. He loved planting in the garden as an amateur farmer and was always excited to see the fruits of his labor. Kevin willingly engaged in teaching others and, true to his passion as a gardener, expressed a desire to help others to grow and thrive. Additionally, Kevin enjoyed sculpting, leatherworking, airbrushing, hunting, and fishing.
Dr. Kevin John Strasser was a devoted husband, brother and friend. He dedicated his life to the study of medicine to provide the best possible care for his patients, often treating those who could not otherwise afford treatment. After many years battling medical challenges, Kevin eventually had to give up his practice. He finally succumbed to the battle in the early hours of the morning, passing quietly but unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, March 30th. He was 58 years old.
He is survived by his wife Kelly, sister Kim, brother Keith and many loving friends and patients.
We, his friends are trying help Kelly cover her expenses. The burial costs, medical bills and outstanding debts total just over $5,000. Any funds raised in excess of that will be used to create a scholarship for students attending John Paul II Catholic High School, where Kelly is a teacher.
