Help my father beat Cancer
Donation protected
Cancer is a battle that no one should have to fight. I think we can all agree on that. Unfortunately it is now my family’s turn.
My name is Lilian Franco, I’m from Paraguay and I am here asking you to help me help my hero, my father.
About this big man, as a father he attended every ballet festival that I performed during my childhood , sewed my clothes, cooked breakfast every morning before school and even did my hair, we have great histories about that. He taught me about construction, soccer, music, art and encouraged me to try new things.
He shared his love for our country with me, our culture and poetry and told me how our people have a strength, determination and resilience that created our country which drives all of its people and makes us strong. With all of these lessons and support he provided to me when I was young, he didn’t stop there. When I became a single mother, he was there for me, even then when I had nowhere else to go, and became a father figure to my daughter too, and continues to provide these lessons and support to my daughter.
Through everything that I have been through in my life, my father has always done everything he could to be there for me and now it is my turn to do everything I can to be there for him.
My father’s name is Antonio, he is 76 years old and has recently been diagnosed with a very aggressive type of Sarcoma while suffering from the effects of Parkinson’s. Like many immigrants, I came to America looking to make a better life and secure a better future for myself and my family, which includes my beautiful 13-year-old daughter and my mother who suffered a stroke in 2018, leaving her partially immobilized.
It has been very difficult being a daughter and a single mother moving to New York so far away from my family during these difficult times. With the help of many friends, I have been organizing fundraisers selling food both here and back home to help with the cost of the expensive treatments he needs to receive. I have now reached a point where I can no longer do this alone and I am coming to you for help. I am asking you to please help me with providing the care my father needs to stay with us for more years.
My father taught me that the only fight you can’t win is the one you don’t fight, and I will keep fighting for him and with him until my last breath.
I am asking you to please help me keep fighting for him and donate what you can, I appreciate any support you can provide.
