Leslie Fell Memorial Services and Family Expenses
Donation protected
Below You will read the battle my mother faced before her death.
I will be arranging two memorials for later dates to honor my mother Leslie D. Fell's memory. One will be held in Taos, NM and the other in or near Los Angeles, CA.
My mother's death was very sudden and unexpected. She did not have life insurance or other assets to help assist with finances after her death.
All funds raised will be divided for two memorial services and help with immediate expenses due to my mother's spontaneous death . If there are any remaining funds after the services it will be used to help support my younger brother who suffers from mental illness.
My mother Leslie D. Fell was vacationing in Cabo San Lucas Mexico when her health took a horrific turn and she was unable to breathe.
She was admitted to Hospital Del Especialidades in Cabo San Lucas and under went multiple heart arrests.
Upon being incubated the doctors attempted to get her medevac to San Diego ASAP, but the travel insurance purchased by my mother refused air ambulance at this time and transferred her to a private hospital to treat her needs.
The private hospital said she would need to undergo a heart procedure around 76,000 American Dollars! I, the daughter, and other family members could not afford to provide a down payment of 35,000 American Dollars on the spot, so my mother was transported again to a general public hospital still in Cabo San Lucas.
Throughout hospital bouncing, her traveling companion, my great aunt, was maxing out her credit cards in order to get her ambulance transfers and additional fees paid to help save my mother's life.
The insurance was being very uncooperative in adressing her immediate needs for medevac resulting in prolonging the proper medical attention she desperately needed.
Each hospital has their own medical reports and had to see to resuscitating her at least once.
Once third hospital said they could not assist to her needs, she was transported once again to the first hospital admitted where a medevac was finally authorized by the travel insurance company and I signed all necessary release and liability forms to finally get her back into the USA.
My family and I left our home and begin to make the 14 hour drive to San Diego where my mom was to be taken.
When we were about to reach Tucson, AZ, I received a call that the air ambulance at Cabo airport had refused to accept my mother's transport by air because she could not handle the altitude and pressure. She would indeed die during the flight.
My mother Leslie was taking back to original admitted hospital.
The hospital said they could not give my mother the medical attention and procedures needed and also could no longer wait for insurance agency to follow up due to my mother Leslie's lung recently collapsing and having to place a tube out her side.
Hotel Especialidades arranged and succeeded in transporting my mother 2 hours away to a hospital in La Paz where her sever medical needs can be treated.
Thanks to my Uncles, I had continued updates and contact information that the insurance agency could not seem to provide or follow up.
Now in La Paz a procedure was to take place that would be to place one or more stents and unclog any areas blocked within her heart.
My mother did not survive in order for the procedure to happen. She was very critical! Time was of the essences and not on her side.
There is no telling what may have happened if her needs were promptly attended to.
This is where my family and I are reaching out for donations in this horrific matter of seeing to it that my mother's memory is properly honored and the immediate family is taken care of.
Anything helps and the smallest donation can still make a difference.
I thank you all from beyond the bottom of my heart!!
Updates will be given at later dates.
Currently I am awaiting her remains to be sent to me in NM.
She was truly loved by close family and friends and so happy to be a grandmother of a 1yr old little boy.
