I am Christy Steinbach. The mother of Haily Story Steinbach. I have finally swallowed my pride and am asking the community for some financial help. Some how, I have managed to make this work until now. Being a single working mom can be tough but family comes first.
I am raising money for Haily's medical expenses. She has severe TMJ and I do not have the funds to keep her medical treatments going. If we cant get this fixed she could stop breathing. She is in constant and severe pain. I feel helpless because there is not much I can do for her at this point.
What is TMJ?
Temporomandibular joint disorder is pain in the jaw joint that can be caused by a variety of medical problems. The TMJ connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull (temporal bone) in front of the ear. Certain facial muscles control chewing. Problems in this area can cause head and neck pain, facial pain, ear pain, headaches, a jaw that is locked in position or difficult to open, problems biting, and jaw clicking or popping sounds when you bite.
YES WE HAVE INSURANCE
We do have insurance. It only covers so much. I was told I could be put on a sliding fee but being my work is mainly seasonal a sliding fee is not realistic. The immediate need is a mouth splint. Even with a sliding fee it will be several hundred dollars. These types of situations keep araising. Travel expense back and forth to these specialists is very expensive. Some of these trips are multiple days in a row.
I need to say that Haily is a wonderful kid. She is my middle child. She has a great sense of humor. She played 3 band insturments which she had to quit due to her TMJ issues. I know she misses playing and that makes me sad. I just want her to get the help she needs so she can continue living her life.
We all love each other very much in our household. It gets tough when money causes stress on top of medical issues. Some financial help would lessen the stress on our whole family. Thank you in advance for any and all help. It is very much appreciated <3
