Marshall's Journey
Donation protected
Hi my name is Sam Parkinson and I’m fundraising money for a great mate of mine who has got a big battle ahead of him.
Unfortunately on the 24th of March this year Marshall was diagnosed with stage four Melanoma.
The precise diagnosis being metastatic melanoma with secondaries to widespread lymphadenopathy.
Marshall has never been one to back away from a challenge, and although this will be his biggest yet, it will be no different.
Marshall is 49 years of age with a beautiful young family. His two girls Porscha and Maddison who are six and four respectively and his beautiful wife Dianne.
Marsh is one to never sit still, he is a fit and active young man which made the severity of the diagnosis hard to comprehend for family friends.
Soon after diagnosis Marshall started the first stage of treatment which consisted of an intense course of immune therapy and a stint in his liver due to the inflammation caused from the cancer. This first course of treatment will last three months at which stage they will complete more scans to ascertain how affective the treatment has been.
The side effects from the treatment have meant that Marshall has lost huge amounts of weight and is unable to work to support his young family. This has left a huge burden on Dianne to raise two young children whilst working full time to support Marshall and pay the bills.
When I first mentioned “go fund me” to Marshall his reply was “what for me??” This is the person he is, he’s someone that keep’s pushing through no matter the circumstances. Marshall never wants to put people out and therefore was taken back by my suggestion.
Since our first discussion he has realised that he can’t do this on his own. In order to get through this he needs to let people help to reduce the strain on Dianne and the girls.
People want a lot of things in life until something like this comes along and all you want is your health. Marshall is no different and is ready for the fight in order to spend as much time with his loving family and friends.
If you can support Marshall and his family whilst he fights this battle it would be greatly appreciated.
