Kata is 15 years old. Intuitive, daring, quiet, and an wonderful teammate. She has just started her freshman year at Pompano Beach High School, full of hopes and dreams, ready to swim varsity for the first time in her life and eager to have classmates.
Little did she know that the course of her life is about to radically change. While she still is the same intuitive, daring but quiet young lady, almost overnight pain transformed her into the most unbelievable fighter. A fighter against a very rare form of muscle cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Stage 3. We were told that the size and ability of this tumor to spread should not be underestimated. It must have felt like standing on the block in freezing cold conditions, getting ready to swim 400 Individual Medley for the first time! The news about her condition poured on her like heavy rain, but all she said was: "Marissa, I have a childhood cancer, but I GOT THIS!"
The recommended treatment, though not finalized yet, will start with 3 months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery(ies), possibly blood transfusion, radiation and/or chemotherapy again. What a race to win, isn't it?
These funds are intended wholeheartedly for her and her recovery. Travelling to California, different tests and treatments, a world of good quality supplements and nutritional supplements are just a few on our list.
There are many ways to help, I am sure. Just by sending an honest prayer, healing energy, emotional support are different forms of help. We will take it all.
Ultimately, everyone of us have our ways to heal and believe in the power of science but in the end, I know that SHE WILL BE THAT MIRACLE!

Mindez ido alatt, fogalma sem volt arrol hogy a sorsa radikalis valtozasok ele teszi hamarosan.. Mikozben Kata ugyanolyan intuitiv, bator, csendes es kivalo csapattars maradt, szinte egy perc alatt a fajdalom kemeny, makacs harcossa formazta. Harcos let belole egy nagyon ritka gyermekkori izom szarkoma ellen, ami az Alveolaris Rhadbomyiosarcoma neve alatt alig-alig ismer az orvos tudomany.. 3as stadiumban. Nem alabecsulendo egy ehhez hasonlo betegseg, azt mondjad.. Kata harmadik nyelven, uszo/versenyzo nyelven, ezt ugy lehet leforditani mint amikor, fent allsz a rajtkovon, meleg parat fujsz ki az orrodon mert olyan hideg van es le kell usznod a 400 meter vegyest eletedben legeloszor ugy hogy meg is nyerd…!
De mindezek hallatara, akar egy jegeso ami az emberre zuhan annelkul hogy tudna, Kata eltokelt szandekkal es tudatosaggal kijelentette, hogy “Ezt legyozom.”
Az ajanlott kezelesi terv, habar meg mindig nem vegleges, 3 honap kemoterapiaval fog kezdodni, ezt kovetoen mutet(ek), lehetseges veratultetes, sugar es/vagy kemo kezeles ismet.. Micsoda megnyernivalo futam, igaz kis Katam???
