I am a friend and co-worker of Teri. We are nurses at French Hospital Medical Center, where I have had the honors of seeing Teri care for patients and their families during the hardest time of their lives. Now it is our time to offer the support to Teri that she has provided to our community for decades.

Unbeknownst to Teri, this journey began in January 2019 when she had ruptured appendicitis. Teri spent 6 days in the hospital after her appendectomy and hemi-collectomy. She recovered from that very nicely and her follow up appointment was encouraging.

Fast forward to Summer 2021, Teri was experiencing chronic abdominal pain that landed her in the ER. This is when a CT scan showed metastatic cancer throughout her abdomen and a large mass on the left ovary. In August 2021, biopsy confirmed this was appendiceal cancer with mets.

Teri was notified on December 31st that her insurance would be discontinued as of December 31. This all came as a surprise with no time for preparation for the expenses that are coming up.

Teri is half way through chemo treatments which she has every other week. She is awaiting approval on a referral to Stanford for surgery. The money raised will help with expenses related to insurance fees and treatments needed.

It is an imperative time for Teri to preserve any energy she has to continue to focus on her fight. Finances should not have to be her focus right now. Friends and family, let’s help carry our dear friend as she would do, and has done for us.
